Environmentalists have been trying to influence retailers to get rid of their plastic bags. Personally, we have only been doing it for a few years, but oh, the plastic bags we've saved! We so rarely go out without a bag into a store. I take my Whole Foods bags into Target and now the cashiers are starting to get it. I heard that Walmart has even joined the brigade and is now selling bags at the cash wraps. If you shop at Costco, they don't give out bags - did that ever bother you? IKEA was the first to go international with the plastic bag ban. Now you have to pay for a jumbo bag if you want to bag things. Whole Foods will ban their plastic bags on April 22! Yeah!
