Everyone loves candles, but what most people don't know is that most candles are not good for the environment because of the petroleum-based paraffin, the artificial frangrances and when burned, the black soot is toxic. It is also harmful to your home. I came across Dirt Candles which are made from organically grown American soybeans. They contain essential oils and are packaged with recycled glass and paper. They do not test on animals, are soot-less, charitable, fully biodegradable and not to mention hip! They utilize organic ingredients and environmentally sound business practices whenever possible. I fully support companies that embody these beliefs. This is not the only company to make soy candles, but just thought I'd share. So, candle-lovers: buy and burn responsibly.
